The 2017-2018 VEX IQ Robotics Season has been amazing for Vintage Team A. We participated in the regional league held at Mulholland Middle School and won the Teamwork Champion Award and the Excellence Award. Our team was also part of the VEX in the Valley Tournament that took place at Holmes Middle School and obtained a second Excellence Award.
The Excellence Award is given to teams that exemplify overall excellence and to a great extend our Research Project, inspired by the LAPD Bomb Squad robots, was vital to receive both Excellence Awards.
Each of the three awards qualified us to compete in the California State Championship in Pomona. Our team had an outstanding performance at State and earned an invitation to participate in the VEX World Championship in Louisville, Kentucky from April 28th to May 2nd.
However, this success comes with an additional cost that our school is not able to cover, the registration fee, the cost to travel from California to Kentucky and the housing for four days makes this journey impossible to fund by ourselves.
We greatly appreciate all donations, we know that you value education and your contribution to our team will inspire our students for many years to come.
