In N Out Success!!

In N Out Burger Night was a Huge success! On October 13, 2021 the In N Out Burger truck rolled into the gates of Vintage Magnet to serve up over 500 cheeseburger meals to Vintage Magnet families! Our school raised $2563.00 for our Student Body. Thank you to our Vintage Magnet families for your support.

Eureka Family Math Night

Local District Northwest is hosting a Family Math Night so that parents can learn about the Eureka Math Curriculum and how you can support your child's learning outside of the classroom with Eureka Math Parent Resources.
All Parents and families of schools in Local District Northwest that are using Eureka Math are invited on Wednesday, October 20 from 5 to 6 PM.

Halloween Event on October 29

As part of our desire to provide students with engaging activities, students at Vintage Magnet will safely participate in Halloween events on Friday, October 29, 2021.    These include costumes, pumpkins, and trick or treating.   Because of COVID-19 safety protocols, these activities will not include a Halloween Parade. Parents are unable to enter campus. Most activities will take place in the classrooms.

On October 29, students can come to school dressed in their Halloween Costume.  Students and families must adhere to the following guidelines to participate. Costumes should not interfere with vision or mobility and should not include any items that could be hazardous to others (no makeup). NO WEAPONS OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS. THIS INCLUDES TOY GUNS, KNIVES OR SWORDS. No costumes/masks are allowed that hide the identity of the student (i.e., gorilla suit, “Scream” character, etc.) All costumes should be age appropriate. Costumes which are graphically scary will not be allowed. No inflatable costumes are allowed.
As always, students are required to wear their face masks.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and parents, the Vintage Magnet PTA will create treat bags for each student.  If you would like to donate candy, please let your child’s teacher know. Each PTA Liaison is creating a candy box to collect class donations.

Pumpkins will be judged and awarded ribbons for creativity Please bring in your pumpkin by 8:00 am on Friday, October 29 to the “Pat Dodge Reading Park” located in front of the library. Make sure the tear-off below is attached to your pumpkin. Please remember to pick up your pumpkin by 3:00pm. Any pumpkin not picked up by 3pm will be thrown away. Classes will view the decorated pumpkins.

We feel that it is important to provide a safe and controlled environment for children who would like to wear costumes, but who might otherwise not have an opportunity. Although some students and families may choose not to participate in the event, all students will have the option to participate if they wish. (If you prefer that your child not participate, please contact the main office or your child’s teacher.)

Vintage PTA Candy Drive and Candy Collection Box Decorating Contest!

Hello Vintage Families:

Starting October 13th till October 27th PTA will be collecting candy bags per class. If you wish to donate, please send a bag of individually wrapped Candy with your child.

It is time for 5th grade students to apply to the Middle Schools they would like to attend next year. As we receive information from our local Middle Schools, we will email parents that information. Echoices On-Time Application Window

The eChoices on-time application window for 2022/2023 is October 1st to November 12th, 2021. The programs included in this application are:

Magnet Programs
Schools for Advanced Studies
Affiliated Charter Programs
Dual Language Education
Admission Criteria Schools
Programs with Transportations

If you would like your child to continue at Vintage next year, please do not apply, as your child will already have a spot with us next year. If you apply to another Magnet or another program, you run the risk of loosing your spot at Vintage. So only complete an application if you actually want your child to attend a different school. Go to apply.lausd.net if you want to apply.

Our parent meeting on "Applying to Magnets and Other School Options" will be on Monday, October 4th at 4:00 p.m.
