Vintage Beautification Day  - Spring 2019 - Volunteers Rock!

4/30/2019

Vintage Spring 2019 volunteers were a small but mighty group.  For two hours these wonderful students, parents, family, friends, and staff came out.  They rolled up their sleeves and gave areas around Vintage a deep cleaning. It truly makes a welcome improvement to our school campus and a nicer place for our students to learn.  Vintage holds school beautification days twice a year, fall and spring.  If you were unable to participate this year, we hope to see you at the fall 2019 event.  Your participation does make a difference.

Participants were given a raffle ticket to win Disneyland tickets.  Congratulations to K. Bryan from Room 28 and his  family for winning the tickets.

2019 BMX Bike Show  Reward  Enjoyed by All

4/11/2019

As a reward for selling World's Finest Chocolates and raising funds for Vintage, PTA rewarded students for all their hard work.   The reward was a show of BMX riding and stunts held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 on the playground.  The show is put on by Dan Hubbard’s “Love to Learn” BMX Show.  This year, students were dazzled by Ross Lanier, a world famous BMX bike rider.  A highlight of the show was watching six of the Vintage's teachers and PTA laying down on the ground with Ross jumping over them. Dan Hubbard's show includes messages to students to study hard, be respectful, be kind and thoughtful, help others, and be safe.

Principal for the Day, Mr. Noah R.

4/10/2019

Fourth grade student, Mr. Noah R., winner of the 2019 "Principal for the Day" at the PTA Auction Fundraiser, confidently pitched in to give Principal Mourao a hand.  Wednesday, April 10th, 2019, Mr. Noah started the day by greeting staff and providing nourishment in the form of doughnuts.  He then visited classrooms and helped at an assembly.  Students learned more Vintage's new Principal for the Day in a slide show Mr. Noah R.  presented. When asked about what he would like to see take place at Vintage Magnet School if he were in charge, Noah replied, "Smaller class sizes for grades 4 and 5."  He felt that smaller class sizes would help students learn better.  Thank you Mr. Noah R. for all your help.

4/1/2019

UPDATE: Vintage VEXIQ Team interviewd by Univision - Video link below. Vintage VexIQ Robotics Team B captures top place in State Teamwork Competition and Design Award to advance to VexIQ World Championship in Kentucky. The competition on March 2, 2019, was the culmination of many months of intense work and practice under the direct guidance of Coach Nolasco and Principal Mrs. Mourao.  Team B rallied from behind in a thrilling comeback, and an equally thrilling win.   The Design Award, another World Championship qualifier, was a confirmation that the team is truly deserving to compete at the highest level.
