We are trying to foster a culture of kindness on our campus. More information about this nationwide effort can be found at https://thegreatkindnesschallenge.com/schooledition. We are encouraging our students to show kindness to one another in the following ways: Monday - Remember that Kindness Links Us Together - In class, students will be writing out a kind act that they completed or describe ones that they witnessed by other classmates and create a classroom chain link. Tuesday - Talk about Kindness - All classes will be mixed during lunch time! Students will meet someone new to share a kind word. PTA is partnering with Student Council to sponsor this event. Thank you PTA! Wednesday - Wear It Wednesday - Students may wear either t-shirts that are yellow OR t-shirts/sweatshirts/headbands/hats with positive messages. The students might want to “twin” with a classmate or friend. Thursday - Thankful Thursday - Students will bring PRE-WRITTEN thank you cards to someone on campus (friend, classmate, administrator, office staff, teachers, aides, custodial staff, cafeteria staff, itinerant teachers, parent volunteers, etc.). Cards will be collected on Thursday and distributed on Friday. Four are included on the back of the flyer which you can download below. Additional cards can be downloaded from the school’s website. Friday - Fantastic Friday/Pay it Forward Friday - Student Council Representatives will form a Kindness Squad at the drop off gate on Densmore and the bus drop off gate on Stare to cheer on students and wish them a fantastic day as they arrive to school in the morning. We will cheer from 7:45AM to 8:00AM. Students are then encouraged to “pay it forward” by committing a kind act to at least five more people on that day. Parents, feel free to join the squad - bring your own pompom! If you have any questions, please contact Vintage's teachers: Mrs. Buck or Mrs. Lopez.
