Students from around the country asked him numerous questions. He even answered two of the three questions that our Vintage students asked:
1. How do you have enough oxygen to live in space for a long period of time? Do you recycle the oxygen?
2. What do you do in your leisure time? Can you watch TV? Do you get a signal on a phone/tablet?
He was not able to answer the third question: How do you count the days since we measure it by sunrise to sundown? How do you know what time it is on Earth and on the ISS?
He mentioned that he enjoys growing lettuce and other edibles in space—our fourth grade Garden Club members were excited to hear about the vegetable experiments in space.
Are you interested in becoming an astronaut? Mr. Lindgren encourages you to set goals, work hard, and focus on math, science, technology, and engineering in school. Remember that being an astronaut is a joint effort—you’ll have to collaborate with others to complete your missions.
We are so thankful for the privilege of speaking with him. At Vintage Magnet, we have friends in high places!
