Enrollment
Kindergarten/Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
Kindergarten/TK enrollment packets for the 2020/2021 school year will be available starting March 30, 2020. Check with the Main Office by calling 818-892-8661 for availability. Vintage only has 41 seats available this coming year in Kindergarten and 24 seats available for TK. These seats must be given to students who live in the neighborhood ( San Jose Street on the North, Superior Street on the South, Woodley Avenue on the West and Sepulveda Blvd on the East). We do not have Open Enrollment or Lottery. Your child will need be five years old by September 1, 2020 for Kindergarten or five years old between September 2, 2020 - December 2, 2020 for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and must have all their immunizations up to date. If we have fewer then 24 TK students we will fill the balance of that class with Kindergarten students which will make it a TK/K split class. Please be aware that there is a huge demand for Kindergarten and TK spots at Vintage. It is important for every interested parent to be clear on the enrollment procedures. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a 2 year program. If your child is picked as a TK student, they will automatically be in for Kindergarten the next year. Since TK is a 2 year program, we only have 41 spots available this coming school year. A mandatory Kindergarten/TK parent meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd, at 8:30 to 9:30 am in our school auditorium. Attending our school for kindergarten does not guarantee you a spot in first grade. Our school is a full magnet school from grades 1 - 5. You must fill out a Choices application online at echoices.lausd.net by the deadline to have a chance for any of our openings for first grade. The application usually becomes available the beginning of October through mid November. Late applications usually become available in February. |
New Student Enrollment
After receiving an acceptance letter from the LAUSD Magnet Office, parents should follow the instructions and accept or decline the position online. Parents will also receive a letter from the school telling them when to come in to pick up an enrollment packet and register. We need your cooperation in getting enrollment packets back in a timely manner. This is important to make sure everything runs smoothly and you are completely enrolled by the time we leave in June. |
