Fifth grade student members of the Student Team Of Reporters and Meteorologists (STORM group) researched, wrote, and produced a video about weather around the world. They used the Wuppets (weather puppets) and a green screen in the making of their video. To celebrate the completion of the video they enjoyed a Movie Premiere with popcorn and juice at their Weather Wednesday meeting.
The STORM group is comprised of fifth grade students who volunteer to perform a service for the school. They keep the school's community informed about the weather conditions. They also track weather of the week, month, and school year. They learn how to use the green screen for making videos. On Weather Wednesdays they focus on learning more about different weather conditions and watching their weekly weather video that they video. Our goal for next year is to partner up with another elementary school and compare and contrast their weather with ours and how that affects their lives.
