We are pleased to announce that Vintage Magnet was selected as a “Gold Ribbon Award School” for 2016. The Gold Ribbon awards recognize California schools that have made gains in implementing the academic content and performance standards adopted by the State Board of Education. These include, the California Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics, California English Language Development Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards.
The Gold Ribbon Aware replaces the California Distinguished Schools Programs, which is on hiatus while California creates new assessment and accountability systems. Vintage applied for the award based on a model Science, Technology, Math, and Engineering program. Our program exemplifies instructional and special interest academic activities for students that can be replicated by other local educational agencies. Vintage is being honored because of the work of a dedicated staff and unparalleled amount of parental involvement. We will be honored in an award ceremony in May and receive a plaque and banner.
