Vintage would like to thank Ms. Eishkhanian, Arbor Day event coordinator, and Mr. Pokorski, President of the Southern California Garden Club for your support and for your generous gift to Vintage's garden program; Mr. List for acquiring the tree and his assistant, Stefan, for digging the hole and planting the tree; and all of the Southern California Garden Club members for coming out to show their support; and Vintage's Mrs. Stone and Mrs. Buck for organizing the students.
Vintage Magnet participated in a tree planting event with the Pacific Region Garden Clubs, Inc. in cooperation with the Southern California Garden Club. A tree was donated to Vintage with the help of Mr. List, from Sylmar Charter High School's Agriculture Department, who is also a Vintage grandfather. Student representatives from each classroom joined together and listened to two reports given by Student Council representatives, Viviana from Room 28, on the History of Arbor Day and by Sofia from Room 13, on Arbor Day Facts. Student Council Representative, Kayla, from Room 13 read a lovely Arbor Day poem. The tree planted is a Cupaniopsis anacardioides commonly called carrotwood or tuckeroo.
