Friday, June 1, 2018, Vintage held a family evening focused on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities, speakers, science fair projects, and displays.
The evening started off with a reception for science fair finalist. Gates opened to families at 5:00PM. Fratelli's Pizza, Kona Ice, popcorn, and Menchie's Yogurt were available for purchase. Tile painting, VEX Robotics demonstrations, STEM displays, and more kept visitors busy until the 6PM guest speaker, Veronica Garcia, (MIT and Stanford graduate in mechanical engineering and currently Program Manager, Medtronic Diabetes) spoke. Ms. Garcia's inspiring talk encouraged students to not give up and not be afraid to try. She also encouraged girls to pursue STEM careers. Thank you, Ms. Garcia, for sharing your inspirational story and for being one of our Vintage parents.
