All students were able to donate coins in the library toward the saving efforts of one animal at a time. Each time a student donated, they would receive a ‘thank you gift’ (usually a plastic animal) and a raffle ticket for the end of the year drawing.
The club is happy to announce that our school helped in the saving efforts of the following animals:
Narwhal, Sea Turtle, Three-Toed Sloth, African Elephant and The Bald Eagle (our national bird).
The Endangered Animal Club sends their money into the World Wildlife Fund. WWF sends us an adoption certificate, photos of the animal, fact cards and a stuffed toy of the animal. These stuffed versions are displayed in the library during the year and Mrs. Forbes buys books about each animal so that the students can learn more about them.
The club ended the year celebrating their efforts and they drew names of 5 donating students to win and take home each of the stuffed animals. Congratulations to the following students:
