Congratulations to Dr. Gonzalez! She begins a new assignment as the new Principal at Andasol Elementary School. Dr. Gonzalez, we will truly miss you. For the past five years, you have been an amazing support to the teachers, students, families, and administration. We know that you are ready for your next journey and you will accomplish great achievements at Andasol.
Congratulations to Mrs. Debbie Stone on her retirement. Thanks for your amazing work at Vintage. You truly have gone that “extra mile” with all that you do. In your years at Vintage, you have taught computer skills and gardening skills. You created the Student Techies on Patrol and STORM Clubs. You worked with parents, teachers, administration to catalog and distribute devices. During the pandemic, you helped in so many ways. Vintage is a wonderful school because of the legacy that you left. Thanks for your service and dedication.
Congratulations to Ms. Rodgers who will be moving on to her new life of travel, fun, and relaxation. After a successful teaching career, Ms. Rodgers will be dedicated to family and friends. Mrs. Rodgers served as GATE Coordinator, UTLA Representative, in addition to her teaching duties. She embodied the Vintage Spirit with her hard work and dedication. Students, staff, and parents are thankful for her wonderful teaching and kindness to all. We will miss you so much but know that you are enjoying your well-deserved retirement.
Thanks to the Granada Hills South Neighborhood Association for the generous donation to Vintage Magnet. With their grant, we purchased additional robotics kits and the new competition game for this year. We presented to the Association in March and had several former students and current students, Malik Nerad-Sultan, Oeden Garcia, Isabella Chatham, and Audrey and Nadia Wilson discuss their robot projects and programming skills. Several of the students were on the teams that traveled to the World Tournament in Louisville, KY. They shared their experience and a video of the opening ceremony. One of the members of the Granada Hills South Neighborhood Association reminded the students about how important robots are and will be in the future. We appreciate this wonderful partnership! Thanks to Tara Vahdani, Jeannie Kamm, and Board Member Schmerelson also for the technical support and encouragement.
