Vintage is ushering in Spring with a much cleaner campus thanks to caring volunteers who showed up on Saturday, March 22, 2014 for Vintage's School Beautification Day. Those families and staff that showed up and rolled up their sleeves and busily scrubbed, raked, dug, planted, weeded, watered, trimmed, and much more deserve a big thanks. With their help and hard work, Vintage's campus looks much nicer and is a more pleasant place to be for our students.
If you couldn't make this event, please watch for an announcement for the next opportunity in Fall 2014. School beautification days are twice a year where volunteers (students, staff, parents, relatives, neighbors) can come on campus for a few hours to provide the manpower to make improvements to our campus that otherwise probably wouldn't get done. Click here to see photos from this event. Vintage would also like to thank those people who donated funds or materials or plants for this event. Volunteers were treated to delicious bagels donated by Bagel, Bagel (located at 19755 Rinaldi Street, in Porter Ranch). Thank you to all those that made donations for your generosity. California Pizza Kitchen at Northridge Mall on Tampa Ave is serving pizza with a purpose. Join your fellow Vintage families. Bring your flyer and present it when you order and California Pizza Kitchen will donate 20% of your check to Vintage Magnet. Purchases include dine in, take out, catering and all beverages.
This is a great way to support our school and have a fun, family evening out. Thank you to all who participate. It makes a difference to our school and students. No one loves to take tests (that I know of). Wouldn't it be nice to be able to see what the test format might be and what is considered a good answer before taking a test? Students and parents can do this at home. Grades 3, 4, and 5 have been practicing how to use the new online testing format in our school computer lab. Students can also benefit from additional practice at home. In addition, the second link below will give guidance as to what they are looking for in the way of answers. We encourage all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students and parents to visit the links below to help your children become more comfortable with taking these tests.
