Second grade students at Vintage Magnet had the great privilege of a visit last Friday from author/speaker, Jerry Tello. After reading his great story, "Abuelo and the Three Bears" in their second grade anthology, students in Mrs. Raquel and Mrs. Amanios' class wrote letters to the author. Mr. Tello graciously responded and agreed to a visit to Vintage.
Mr. Tello speaks all over the world about causes such as raising children, fatherhood, violence & abuse prevention and more. In addition, after years of telling his stories aloud, he was encouraged by many to put his stories into print. He has written several stories in both English and Spanish.
Mr. Tello had the adults and students on the edge of their seats with his captivating stoytelling, in hysterics with his stand up type comedy about his family and culture, and in the palm of his hand when talking about accepting who you are and being your best.
Vintage staff and students had a day to remember and are very thankful to Mrs. Raquel for planning this event and for Mr. Tello for spending the day with us.
