Staff and students participated in our annual earthquake drill on October 19th, 2023.     We   practiced our  stop, drop, and hold   on drill.     We  evacuated the classrooms, participated in scenarios, and will debrief with our staff in order improve  our earthquake preparedness.  

It is important that you have updated your child's Emergency Card with the names of all the adults whom you give permission to pick up your child in case of an emergency.

​When it is safe to pick up your child following an emergency, you will need to follow a special process to ensure everyone’s safety.   The Request Gate (on Haskell Ave.) is the station set up to identify yourself to school staff and request that your child be sent out. You must bring I.D., and you must be listed on the child’s emergency card in order to check a child out. You will then report to the Reunion Gate (on Septo St.), where your child will be brought to you. Separating the two gates keeps crowding down, and lessens anxiety for children who may become frightened by a large crowd of parents. Keep yourself informed of school procedures by attending parent meetings, reading the student-parent handbook, and school newsletter, and checking the school website periodically. Make sure your family is prepared for emergencies, too.

Join us for NASA STEM Family Night on Friday, October 6th, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM.  

The evening will  begin with our keynote speaker address at 6:00 PM in the auditorium.  Our   keynote speaker will be  Dominque Stumbaugh, an Astrophysicist and researcher from UCLA, who will be discussing the sun's impact on Earth!

It will be a night full of STEM activities for the  whole family!  Please see the attached flyer for more information!
